Orcworm/Albuca Adventure Maps! ~NOT WhiteListed~ - Albuca - 02-17-2012

Orcworm/Albuca Adventure Maps!
Currently on 1.2.4

A new map every other eventually!
(or when everyone gets bored with the current one)

### ADVENTURE MAP WILL BE DELETED/RESET EVERY DAY OR SO TO REFILL CHESTS AND SUCH ###

THFFF

=====RULES=====

1: Be sure to always play on hard, not peaceful/easy/normal.
2: Don't use add-ons such as fly mods, x-ray mods, etc. If you're already adding mods that add new items to the game, like weapons and armor from the Aether, don't use any of those items.
3: Don't go past the boundaries. You'll know them when you see the giant bedrock walls.
4: If you think something you're about to do might be considered cheating, then don't do it.
5: Once you find Fort _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _, beat the Nethertorium and complete both The Grim Tree and The Forgotten Facility, (If you're in single player, you may exclude completing The Grim Tree), you've won. Now your only goal is to find all the secrets, like the shipment crates, easter eggs and seven names. Since you've already won, feel free to disregard all of the above rules and cheat as much as you want.

=====GOALS=====

There are five different "forts" on this map. They're abandoned buildings of various designs. The main goal for this map is to find the fifth fort. You'll know it's the right one when you've found it. Once you've found it, you've essentially "beaten" the map, but why stop there? If you want to go for 100% completion, try finding every little secret this map has to offer. To keep track of how much of the map you've completed, here's this:

Names found: 0/7
Minor forts found: 0/4
Sandboxes found: 0/10
Easter eggs found: 0/15
Mob Grinders found: 0/3
Buried treasure found: 0/4
Grim Trees conquered: 0/1
Pat on the back earned: 0/1
Hermit's hideouts found: 0/4
Shipment crates found: 0/15
Forgotten treasure found: 0/1
Rogon Mountains climbed: 0/1
Fort _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ found: 0/1
Creeper spawners destroyed: 0/13
Nethertorium stages reached: 0/10
Forgotten Facility's floors completed: 0/1
Fort _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _'s old emblem found: 0/1
Checkpoints of the agility course reached: 0/8

=====F.A.Q.=====

Will this work with the next version of Minecraft?
Yep.

Do I need to download any mods for this map work properly?
Nope. That's the main reason why it's compatible with all future versions of Minecraft.

I'm starting to see the ocean of lava turn into an ocean of water - what do I do?
That's an unintended side effect of the world generation that I had to deal with while creating the world. Consider it a boundary that you're not allowed to pass if you want to play this map by the rules to get the most fun out of it.

I'm starting to see the ocean of lava turn into forested areas or swamps - what do I do?
Again, consider it a boundary that you're not allowed to get too close to.

I've died and lost the only saplings/seeds/mushrooms/whatever renewable resources I had early on in the game. Do I have to redownload the map and start all over in order to get those resources again?
Don't worry about that; if you explore enough, you'll DEFINITELY find some more of that renewable resource, whether it's a specific type of sapling, a reed or something else entirely. Some of them are out in the open, like "The Grove of Second Chances" on the opposite side of the island you spawn on, which was added for this very purpose. To make sure one, tiny death 30 seconds into your gameplay doesn't mean game over. If you're still having your doubts, just find the fifth fort; you'll hit the jackpot in the captain's office. Check out those vegetation samples.

How will I know when I've found Fort _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _/found H _ _ _ _ _'s name/"Earned a pat on the back"/found an easter egg/something else? The description of it was really vague...
Ohhhh, trust me. If you kind of think you might have found one of them, but you're not 100% sure: you probably have NOT found it. When you DO find what you're looking for, you'll know. Like the "Earned a pat on the back" one, there'll be a sign telling you that you've earned it, plus it reminds you to fill it in, here in the READ ME.txt.
You'll know when you've found these things.

I found Fort Flowering/Fried/Fruition/Frostbite. Is this the final fort or one of the minor ones?
You've found one of the four minor ones, not the main one.

Is there any sort of story behind this map?
Yep! Check this thread for more information: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/756716-collectionsurvmultiexp18-19-eraiyas-many-maps-no-mods-required-custom-terrain/

=====EASTER EGG HINTS=====

Black: Self-explanatory because of the darkness and bedrock. Like an extra stage or bonus area after you've beaten a game.
Blue: Because it's so lonely in there. And over there. And up there. Either squint really hard or light up every dark area you see.
Brown: It turned brown from sleeping in dirt all day and all night. The trick is just finding the dirt. It'll be out in the open, up high.
Cyan: If blue is loneliness and green is cacti, cyan must be the world's loneliest cactus. You'll find it near the metagame.
Gray: Honestly, I miss the clouds that used to hang out at this elevation. Fittingly, there's an exposed skeleton spawner nearby.
Green: Some say one of the hermit's attack was so brutal, all but the toughest cacti refused to grow there from that day forward.
Light Blue: The closest one to the ice. That's gotta be the strongest sign to support all that weight. Just look up once in awhile.
Lime: If you lived barely two or three blocks away from a zombie spawner and underneath sand, you'd have skin problems too.
Magenta: What two colors do you combine to get Magenta right in the middle, between them? Hope you wrote those two down.
Orange: Doesn't get much hotter than that. Like magenta, this one isn't particularly fair. Mid-elevation, inside the narrow tower.
Pink: Who *wouldn't* be embarrassed if they were caught taking a bath? Video game secrets are often hidden behind waterfalls.
Purple: Portals tend to have that effect on things. Having trouble with white? It's found in the same way as purple.
Red: By far the easiest to find. By far the hardest to reach. Do you have what it takes to get to it without cheating? As hot as it gets.
White: They really are one of the kindest things you can give a person. Forgiveness is a wonderful thing.
Yellow: It was white when I first found it; it's spent too much time in the sun. Destroy some floating islands if you've got the guts.

=====TIPS=====

Friendly mobs like pigs and cows won't spawn on sand. If you find some dirt underground while mining for ores, it's worth taking the time to bring that dirt up to the surface and storing it in a chest until you find one of the grass blocks hidden in various chests on the map. Use those grass blocks and dirt blocks together to get friendly mobs to spawn. Be careful not to waste that grass, though; protect it with your life against creepers and remember that if you destroy it after placing it, you'll only get dirt back!

The closer you plant saplings to the edge of a cliff, the more likely that when you destroy the logs of the tree itself, the saplings it drops will fall into the lava below! This could even make it impossible to replant that tree if all of its saplings fall over the edge!

Enemies constantly spawning somewhere nearby in a shadow-y area? Stop fighting back wave after wave of spiders and zombies with a sword- dig a hole or two into the overhang that's creating the shadow and fight them with sunlight!

You will have ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT about whether or not you've found the fifth fort once you manage to find it. If you're only about 80-90% sure that you've found the fifth one, then you haven't. You've only found one of the four minor forts. There are signs in all five of them that tell you which one you're in!

There aren't a lot of water supplies within the boundaries of the map. If you manage to find one, either try and take them along with you in buckets to store them somewhere safe, or mark those co-ordinates in notepad to remind yourself to come back to that spot and do it later. Once you've got some buckets of water, you can make an infinite water source that should prove helpful!

You could die at any moment. Whether it's from happening to let go of the shift key for just a tiny fraction of a second while crouching along a ledge or being caught off guard by a creeper from behind, remember that you could be one second from death at any given time. With that in mind, no matter where you go: ONLY TAKE WHAT YOU NEED. That way, when you do die, you won't lose as much as you would have!

The easiest way to find the four minor forts and the hermit's hideout is to wait until nighttime to see the light from the torches inside them. However, traveling at night is obviously very dangerous, so after you spot one, you may want to wait until daybreak to get to what you've found. Or just store everything you've got in a chest, THEN go out looking for the torchlight at night- that way, you have nothing to lose if you end up dying!

Don't expect to win in less than an hour. Don't expect to find all fifteen easter eggs and shipment crates without getting help from friends who've also played this map, or cheating. And I mean REALLY cheating hard: using fly mods + x-ray mods at the same time for 5+ hours straight, that sort of cheating. Don't expect to be told the *exact* location of anything important. This map is all about EXPLORATION, not linear gameplay that tells you, "go here, next, go there" again and again. That said, you'll be pointed in the right direction to find the fifth fort once you find any of the four minor ones or the hermit's hideout. Read the signs and avoid the boundaries.

Got a bucket of water? Hate making and running across thin strips of "bridges" you've made out of cobblestone and sandstone to get from one island to another? Carry about a stack of sand with you, make it to the bottom of a cliff, and begin pouring your bucket of water onto bedrock then picking the water source back up again and again to create a trail of obsidian you can walk along, on top of the sea of lava, then use the stack of sand to jump + pillar up to the island you want to climb up to, or bring lots of ladders as a more permanent way of going up and down!
